Sometimes life is hard. My experience of those hard moments is that doubts come creeping in. Can Jesus really be in control when everything is such a mess? I’ve learnt that in those doubting times I need to hold onto the facts about my faith and trust that the feelings will catch up later. I’ve also learned that, invariably, the painful experiences will turn out to have been for my benefit- somehow.
Lyrics
It’s hard to believe, in this darkness and fear, That somehow, Jesus, You are still near. My mind holds onto what it knows to be true But I confess, Jesus, my heart is doubting You.
I need a Saviour, I need a Friend, I need You to come and make this tragedy end. I need You, Jesus, as I never have before So come, Lord, come. Come, Lord, come.
It’s hard to believe that even this pain Will somehow bring me some kind of gain. That this confusion and fearful misery Is how You are choosing to sanctify me.
I need a Saviour, I need a Friend, I need You to come and make this tragedy end. I need You, Jesus, as I never have before So come, Lord, come. Come, Lord, come.
Then in the darkness I catch a glimpse of light. My Saviour is coming to bring and end to this night. Then He will help me to look back and see How in this time He has been setting me free.
I need a Saviour, I need a Friend, I need You to come and make this tragedy end. I need You, Jesus, as I never have before So come, Lord, come. Come, Lord, come.
All things work for our good. We’re in Your hands.
