Welcome to Sarahmusic!
Congratulations on finding the obscure website for an (as yet) unknown British, Catholic, singer/song-writer! (It's not quite finished yet so apologies for weird bits and lack of anything visual!).
You can listen to the songs of the Heartsongs album here (bottom of the page), access the lyrics, download the individual songs or buy the CD. You can also find out about inviting me to sing live at your parish or event.
Also, feel free to add your comments to the guestbook- we all need a little encouragement and it would really help me to hear if the songs have benefited you in some way!
Right. This is the bit where I try and put into words why I’ve written these songs and why I want to share them. Here goes…
We’re all on a journey with God, whether we know it or not, and we’re all in different places on that journey. Some of us don’t want to acknowledge that He exists. Some of us can accept that He’s there but don’t want, or are unable, to be on speaking terms with Him. Some of us like to keep God safely at a distance, following the rules to keep Him happy and some of us have discovered that we can be in deep, loving relationship with Him. For many of us the way we imagine God is warped by our life experiences and we’re struggling to believe that He really is a God of love or that He could love us personally, especially when things go wrong.
Wherever we are on the journey, the reality is that God is always calling us on, urging us to come closer. He’s reaching out to us in love. He knows us and understands us better than we do ourselves. His constant invitation is to come closer, go deeper, let Him in further so that He can sort out the brokenness within us and help us to become the people we were created to be.
These songs have come from my journey with Jesus. They’ve come from places of joy and places of pain. They’re my way of crying out to God and I hope that, in some way, they will help you to do the same.
God bless,
Sarah x
